Traveling comfortably and sustainably across Europe overnight – this is what the Zurich-based startup Twiliner AG aims to offer its passengers. To achieve this, the company is producing buses specifically designed for night journeys, ensuring that travelers can sleep well and relax during the trip.

"Our first three-night buses are currently being built in Spain and will start operating next summer from Zurich to Barcelona, Brussels, and Amsterdam," says Ivan Mele, co-founder and experience designer at Twiliner. The first bus is scheduled for delivery in May 2025. By 2030, the company plans to put more than 100 additional vehicles into operation.

Twiliner aims to provide a reliable and high-performance passenger Wi-Fi service in its premium night buses. "Similar to air and rail travel, we offer not only internet access but also additional information via the onboard Wi-Fi," explains Mele. "Our passengers should feel comfortable and be able to access their usual digital content at any time."

The necessary infrastructure is already being installed in the first three buses serving the Zurich–Basel–Brussels–Amsterdam and Zurich–Bern–Barcelona routes. The on2810 routers supplied by onway are equipped with two mobile and Wi-Fi modems each, ensuring sufficient bandwidth for the 21 guests on the upper and lower decks. Thanks to dual active mobile connections, optimal network coverage is achieved, and seamless roaming ensures an uninterrupted connection, even when crossing borders.
